The first picture I remember of him is of 8^th class, he came wid his bicycle to pick me up frm the barren grounds besides my colony. I sit on his carrier as we took our way to a school where we were havin our NCC day celebrations, some school I never had seen before but he knew where it was, so we came 2 d idea of him givin me a lift and may be if he gets too tired I will give him a lift back home.

The next time I remember him was durin my summer vacations just before I got into my 9^th std. , he appears suddenly on my gate and ask s if we shud go to d net café. Now, those times, internet was a new thing fr us, we din’ have our mail IDs, so we decide to go fr signin up fr our yahoo accounts n chat but we end up seeing our first pornography tht day.

Man, my marks began 2 dip, n increasingly I thgt I needed 2 change my frnds circle , I distanced myself frm Anurag Dev. I got tuitions in mathematics, tht’s wht I needed, u see. I fr 2 years lived in panic of getting less marks in my tenth boards, and lemme tell u very frankly, of those two years of 9^th and 10^th, I remember nothing but tuitions and studies.

Well, those were the last two years I had, 2 be in touch wid him, we eventually gave our boards,. In spite of all dose tuitions n panicking I got a very avg kind of marks but just enough 2 get maths ( n bio too), but Anurag, he got less marks.

The next thing I remember about him is he standing wid his father just outside of Sister Principal’s Office with tears in his eyes, probably he was pleadin fr n admission into d maths section so tht he won’t ve 2 leave d school but nope he din’ ve d marks. I saw him like tht, he saw me, I knew tht he was goin 2 leave. When he saw me, he smiled, I smiled back but……….I moved on, I din’ stop 2 say even hello. After all, he was a bad influence right !! ( n I was supposed 2 be n IIT aspirant).

We went on wid our lives, I saw him at d very same coachin I had joind for IIT preps ( I avoided him der too though fr…………………..he was a bad influence.). I knew he was in Oxford school ( n man was I not proud 2 be a St. Marian…..no, I was arrogant). We gave our 12^th, I was glad to pass out of school, I gave IIT to know tht I wasted 2 yrs. Of my high school life fr something I may ve done but ultimately cud nt do. I gave some other engineering exams n eventually hooked up on a z category engg. College.

Meanwhile, as I was just goin 2 join my “ coveted” college, I got a call frm Anurag, he was sittin in dis second round of counsellin n wanted 2 knw if my coll was gud, now I needed someone I already knew, 2 be in my coll so I said yes of course, but don’ know y , ( probably , he had actually gone wayward in all dese years, girls, smoking, I don’ knw , but he preferred 2 live farther away frm his family….he took some coll in bhopal rather than Indore, where my coll was…), that was the last time I talkd to him, I din’ care at tht moment.

More than a year later, I was in my 4^th sem of engineering, I got d news tht he is no more………..

Did we ever dream of it........ a few months back everytin' was rosy. Then a bubble, then a recession, then a crisis, then a bailout, and then a bigger crisis with markets plunging all over.
People r losing jobs & money , & big names r goin' bankrupt. A decade ago in India share market was the illusionary fairy land for a middle class working indian where big money could be made within minutes.....where lacs could be converted into crores and so on but he himself had not dared to touch it directly for it seemed to be a gamble where if someone gained someone lost too.
But things changed a few years ago, share markets rose to new heights & everybody including the common Indian
wanted his pie too...................the "investment" was the new buzzword and then came this plunge.
In these times when even the most highly acclaimed economists r too baffled to predict the future ,can somebody answer if the era of 'common man investment' ended with this financial crisis !!!!!

What abt that "xtra mile".............what abt tht "xtra drop" of fuel u will need to reach to her???
Price hike is not a new issue but no doubt a murderous one, murdering love, murdering friendship ( when ur frnd doesn't let u use his bike !!), and the list seemingly goes on.
I feel the greatest fundamentalists on earth are the sheikhs of OPEC,, for instead of comparitively "moderate" issues of burka and sorts , they probably want us to return to the age of prophet mohammad, the age of horses and carts...............

It was this book, I read a few days ago............'The making of Laloo Yadav, the unmaking of Bihar' . India is a civilisation which has existed on this planet for thousands of years.
This ultra rich inheritance may not have been able to give us many things, but it has given us a mind which has tolerated the worst scenarios with an overwhelming bravery.

Be it anything, stark poverty, illiteracy, violence, terrorism, we tend to make the greatest storms a part n parcel of our lives. Nowadays, bomblasts ve become a routine, god knows wht is left........maybe a nuke !!!!!

Well, coming back to bihar n Lalu. For years, the state has been doomed, the sole reason cited being corruption, bribery, illiteracy, ignorance, votebank politics...........the list is endless but fr the outer world the work of rebuilding Bihar seems to be quite easy, " Just an iron hand, they say ".

Maybe they r right, maybe adinistration needs an overhauling but my question is wht abt the bigger picture????

If in a democracy, we can't fight it out, if we can't make our ppl 2 rule us according to our choices ,then r we nt worth being doomed forever ???

The real problem is not administration, but our mentality tht creates this system 2 continue. It is not tht India is free frm the concepts of castes, of creeds, infact I don' see any possibility in recent years for these institutions to vanish out, but nowwhere else will u find well equipped armies representing upper n lower castes ( read bhumiars n maos) but in Bihar,

nowwhere else will u find Brahmins ( read Maithil Brahmins of Devghar ) protesting the deployment of Dalit constables at Baidnath Dham, brutal murders of boys n girls marrying outside their castes out of their own will doesn't take place in greater numbers but only n only in Bihar. Parents r forced 2 give dozens of lacs as dowry simply 2 get their daughters married 2 the boy of the same caste ( a 10 lacs budget is not possible fr a govt servant unless he stuffs up his ass with bribes in the name of marrying his daughter, so we know a very ' legitimate' reason fr corruption ).

Dreams r 2 be lived, a better bihar can be formed, but the beginning will be on the day when in a remote village ,the illiterate father of a girl child looking at her sitting in the classroom doesn' bother about the caste of her neighbour but her future and feel the pride of ensuring her a life better than himself , her own mother!!!!!

Believe me when I say............" i m a god fearing man " but I will nt think twice to say he is hell of a judge, all injustice being imparted to " dedicated lovers " !!!!!!!
I was in class 7th an' she was our physices teacher..........." Vivechna Purohit " . She had joined recently but her fame spread far an' wide, boyz began to attend the classes more frequently than anytime in the school's history, I think.
Ok, lemme tell a bit abt her.........

" As I far as I remember she often dressed in a yellow sari, ( damn it was banarasi, ), a blood red sindoor ( she was unfortunately married !!!!!!! ) was enough to kill some guy of a heart attack , with that smile to unleash the shine of white pearls !!"

In short she had the capabilities of turning 'kids into men'. We were fortunate to have her as our class teacher too , that was our first hand experience with the experimentations of courtship. I thought girls surely conspired to kill her with nobody left to 'attend to them'!!!

We had our best times in school with the biggest bullies of the class doin' their homework more sincerely than the toppers. The pupil who forgot to wash their faces before comin' to school, now had pocket combs, the ' spy type' guys took out her address, her contacts an' one of 'em brought to our notice that her husband ( our mutual enemy ) looked like a sweeper which took the good lookin' guys of the class to seventh heaven!!!!!!!

I was no different, for knowing that the best way to impress her was to have good marks in exams, I forgot all other subjects except physics , got failed in 3 out of five an' got 9 an' a half out of 10 in physics. On parent's teacher's meet when results were declared it was decided that I was a weak student an' therefore was referred to 'Vivechna Ma'm' fr extra classes. (Though as I have said I got good marks in physics, still extra classes remained a responsibility of class teacher for junior classes).

So I began spending an hour more with the lady of my dreams after school, all was goin' great with my story but then this villain appeared...........no he was not her husband, but her baby. She was pregnant an' left the school. I considered leavin' the school but felt unable to give a good enough reason to my parents to let me take this drastic step.
Years passed by, I am a third year student of engineerin' now. But even today I just can't stop my grin to grow on my face when I remember that I used to say " Yes' Ma'm !"
distinctly so that our class teacher ( tht is Vivechna Purohit Ma'm ) could raise her eyes from the register to look at me !!!!

Till this day I 've had lots of crushes from my girlfreind's mom to my housemaid, but somethings do remain unique till your death.............Vivechna Ma'm is one of 'em. ( I wonder if she gave birth to a girl child, if so, wish she would grow some day to resemble her mother an' give one more chance to discover wht " first crush" is all about !!!!!!

the day I saw shrek 3....

It was this movie I brought that made Swaroop & Robin throw giggles at me.............yes, it was ' Shrek 3'. I had seen its trailers n knew I had to see it...... animation is definitely something of my interest !!!!!!
The next day the movie was played, a good entertainment flick but wait, this is not just abt Shrek , the movie...........it is all about one dialogue tht was delivered by the concerned main character............................ I don't remember it exactly but the essence was clear " You tend to put yourself in a role based upon the roles that the ppl assign to you............they call you names an' u tend to bring those names to reality, an' then one day u brk off these shackles to become a free man who knows wht he wants to be, an' frm here ur dreams turn into reality !!!!!!!
If anybody has seen this movie, they know it was being said in context with a boy who considered himself a loser simply 'cause ppl told him so an' thus was in no way goin' to be fit into the role of the king.
It was supposed to be a children's movie, a movie meant fr kids....................but wait ,r we nt kids?????? Don' we need 2 learn facts of life, the same way kids learn ?????
I wanted to be a footballer, play a guitar, play mission games on my PC but my parents saw a studious kid in me, I was supposed to be one , I tried to be one.................gave IIT ,failed.......................tried 2 do engg. , blunders happened an' now I think my mind has changd track, it ll like 2 see dreams...............turning 'em into reality.............rather than just playing roles in ' scripts' written by others !!!!!!!

If anybody out here feels that I m trying 2 deliver a highly anti-social message lemme be clear, with all those big books right here in front of me I feel a big fat illiterate still( only reason that I am not throwing 'em out of my window is 'cause 'stomach ka sawaal hai'!!!
Seeing those kids running through green fields makes me feel jealous.........they may have no TV, no PCs. Maybe just that dusted underwear of theirs is enough fr them( they're not bothered whether it's a Jockey or not). Their fearless shrieks fill up the sky at the cost of just one prized possesion, their illiteracy, their licence to freedom.
Goin' through this 'very important subject of my engineering discipline' , they call it DCS-II( Digital Circuits & systems), I could see myself running through the same green fields, the blades of paddy passing through,the birds above my head ,river shining under sun and then I shouted ,that same shriek of independence when suddenly I saw these words on the upper left side of the DCS page I was reading- " Assignment, tommorow "- ' the two words 'ZINDAGI' ke!!!!!
